Spanning 50 years of community service and involvement, whilst not totally complete, an insight to the diversity and scope of our fund-raising efforts and community involvement are provided below.
Major Expenditure Activities
• Donations to the Queensland Institute of Medical research, classes for Seniors, Blue Care, Aspley Respite Centre.
• Supply of equipment to the Solomon Islands Hospital.
• Donations to DIK.
• Supply of tools to the Jacana Centre Workshop and a Dental Van to PNG.
• Donations to Polio Plus, Jacana Centre, Orana Youth Shelter, ARHRF, QIMR and Zillmere State School.
• Supply of equipment to Kits for Kids & a Fridge to the Solomon Islands.
• Donations to ARHRF, Polio Plus, Supply of a Dental Van to PNG.
• Donations to Royal Children’s Hospital Foundation and School Safety Calendars project.
• Equipment supplied to the Cystic Fibrosis Research unit at Prince Charles Hospital, Lae Hospital in PNG & Koki Vocational School PNG
• Supply of School Safety Calendars, donation to the Royal Children’s Hospital, supply of Equipment to the PCH, the Koki Vocational School and the Lae Hospital in PNG.
• Donation to the Solomon Island Disaster Fund & costs associated with the Club’s Outbound Exchange Student to Switzerland.
• Donations to Bowel Scan, the UQ Brain Institute of Medical Research, Kingfisher Learning Program, ROMAC, Shelter Box and The Rotary Foundation.
• Micro Credit loans in India.
• Supply of equipment to the Solomon Islands.
• The supply of defibrillators to the Aspley Hornets.
• $50,000 to establish the Glen Kinross Rotary Scholarship Fund at University of Sunshine Coast, Moreton Campus.
• Support and assistance for the PPP programme at the Aspley State School in conjunction with the Salvation Army at Taigum
• Replacement of the roof on the Charles Lwanga Medical Clinic in Uganda.
• Donations to RAMS, ROMAC, DIK, The Rotary Foundation, Bowel Scan, Aspley Care, Aspley Special School, Bridgeman Downs Men’s Shed, Burnie Brae Centre, Glenhaven Women’s Shelter, Guide Dogs for the Blind & Meals on Wheels Chermside.
• Supply of Equipment to the Solomon Islands Chook Project.
• Donations to Good Hope Centre, KALC Painting, Glenhaven, Bernie Brae, Ridley Road Men’s Shed, Zillmere PCYC, Aspley Care, Wombat Church, Salvation Army Taigum, Brisbane Flood Relief.
• Shelter Box & The Rotary Foundation.
• Donations to Glenhaven, Aspley State School, $5,000.00 to the Rotary Longreach Drought Appeal & The Salvation Army at Taigum.
• Major contribution to Hummingbird House ($20,000), donations to Aspley Care Christmas hampers, Zillmere PCYC youth development courses, Aspley Special School for gym machines and Australian Rotary Health for youth research.
• Equipment supplied to Men’s Shed (a cutter plotter) and to Cup from Above for their new kitchen.
• Aspley Special School Gym refurbishment commenced, blankets donated to the RFDS, completion of cupboards for Salvation Army refurbishment, donation to Aspley Care Christmas Hampers.
• $5000 contribution to 50th year project.
• Supply of Aspley Special School rowing machines & ballet barre, donation to Bald Hills Community Hall equipment supplied to the RFDS, donations to Aspley Care Christmas Hampers.
• Donation to Orange Sky Laundry and Salvation Army Taigum.
• Donations to Aspley Care for Christmas Hampers and hall refurbishments, donation to drought relief through RC of Charleville, combined club RAWCS event to support care for Letitia Harvey and family.
• Supply of equipment to Heart of Australia (an audio system and projector for a second Heart of Australia truck) and RFDS – donation of three sets of noise cancelling headsets.
• Donations to Aspley Care refurbishment & Christmas hampers, The Royal Flying Doctor Service, Hummingbird House, Harvey Norman Prince Charles Hospital Foundation, Bald Hills Scouts, End Polio Now and the RCs of Stanthorpe and Batlow for drought relief.
• Sponsored two RYLA and two to RYPEN participants as well as three students to attend the Conoco Phillips Science program.
